Age Reversal

David Sinclair's aged-mouse vision work is presented as an example of Yamanaka-factor gene therapy restoring visual-system function. Age-reversal gene therapy is characterized as forward-looking and speculative. Yamanaka factors are described as transcription factors that can reprogram differentiated cells into pluripotent stem cells. The article discusses research using three of the four Yamanaka factors to partially reverse aging effects without fully restoring pluripotency.
