AI Bronchoscopy Navigation

Prior simulation studies showed that intermediate and experienced bronchoscopists performed better with the AI navigation system enabled than without it. A systematic review on AI in bronchoscopy found no clinical AI systems had yet been tested in real procedures prior to this study. The Ambu BPS AI system tracks the bronchoscope's path through the airway tree and provides feedback on whether segments are fully, systematically, and efficiently inspected using validated metrics. A clinical AI application could help set and enforce inspection standards, and potentially certify bronchoscopists on thoroughness and systematic technique.
