Allergy Desensitization

Bee venom therapy can reduce or eliminate an existing bee sting allergy. Bee venom desensitization is mechanistically analogous to conventional allergen immunotherapy but uses venom itself as the desensitizing agent. Repeated exposure to small, controlled doses trains and reinforces Treg-mediated suppression of immune overreaction.
