The study investigated whether mortality in wild Anopheles gambiae depends on age. Monthly physiological age distributions of Muheza mosquitoes did not differ significantly. Survival to 30 days in simulated chronological age distributions was very low. The main field dataset came from a 1962-1963 survey near Muheza, Tanzania. Nulliparous mosquitoes made up the largest share of monthly house-catch age compositions.
