Asymptomatic Transmission

SARS-CoV-2 has a high asymptomatic carriage rate, making symptom-based containment ineffective, unlike SARS-CoV-1 where all infected individuals became symptomatic. A hypothesis under investigation is that SARS-CoV-2 viral proteins actively suppress the host fever response in some infected individuals.
