Audouin's gulls are long-lived colonial seabirds that reach sexual maturity only after several years and can delay first reproduction. Audouin's gulls feed nocturnally, specialize on small pelagic fish, and can also use human-derived food resources. Their breeding season lasts about three months from settlement through chick fledging. The Punta de la Banya colony was the world's largest Audouin's gull colony for more than two decades.
