The model used LC3-II immunoblotting as the experimental counterpart of simulated autophagosome concentration. The optimal parameter set fit had cost 0.5364, but the available data did not uniquely constrain all parameters. The study formulated a mathematical model of autophagy-apoptosis crosstalk with 21 variables governed by differential and algebraic equations. The model was fitted to quantitative data from rat kidney proximal tubular cells exposed to cisplatin. The model is presented as an initial quantitative framework for dynamic interaction between autophagy and apoptosis under pharmacological stress.
