Best-worst scaling offers an advantage over Likert scales by forcing respondents to differentiate between beliefs that might otherwise receive similar ratings. This study is the first of its kind to validate survey-derived belief scores against observed real-world prescribing rates. Standardized BWS scores range from −1.0 (least reflective) to +1.0 (most reflective), with 0 indicating indifference. BWS scores were calculated using a count method and confirmed with conditional logistic regression.
