Biopsy-Informed Tumor Profiling

Benign tumours were more common in the follow-up group than in the preexisting tumour group. New tumours diagnosed during follow-up occurred at older ages than tumours present at initial testing. Biopsy-informed profiling may help explain why a tumor’s biology makes some treatment strategies less plausible. WT1 P/LP variant carriers in the follow-up group developed Wilms tumours and gonadoblastoma from truncating variants. Biopsy-informed tumor profiling has utility for therapy selection. Biopsy-based molecular profiling can support clinical decision-making. Biopsy-informed profiling may help clinicians explain why a targeted approach is being considered.
