Bounding mimics an amplified sprinter's stride. A bound is an exaggerated single-leg jump. Bounding involves pushing off one foot and landing on the opposite foot. The main bounding focus is covering horizontal distance rather than height. After landing, the athlete immediately bounds from the opposite foot. The athlete starts on either foot and drives off one leg to leap as far forward as possible. The athlete should maximize hang time during each bound.
