Sulforaphane is effective against Helicobacter pylori, the bacterium responsible for most gastric ulcers and gastritis. Sulforaphane has been studied for autism with documented improvements in behavioral outcomes in clinical trials. Broccoli sprouts contain sulforaphane at concentrations 10–50× higher than adult broccoli. Over 2,000 studies link sulforaphane to anti-cancer activity, including 30 human clinical trials. Growing broccoli sprouts in soil to the microgreen stage produces more developed plants with additional soil-derived nutrients.
