CSI uses positive weights that sum to one across its three component terms. Empirical support for CSI direction includes higher NORM CSI than MI CSI and rhythm discrimination with AUROC 0.89. The Cardiac Stability Index combines Lyapunov exponent, recurrence determinism, and Shannon entropy into a scalar score between 0 and 1. CSI computation reconstructs phase-space dynamics using delay selection, Takens embedding, Lyapunov estimation, recurrence quantification, entropy, and weighted aggregation. CSI alone is not a monotone detector of fibrillatory chaos because fibrillatory values can exceed typical healthy values.
