Cardiolipin

Standard fish oil is comparatively weaker than cod liver oil for mitochondrial support because it lacks the phospholipid matrix. Cardiolipin is a phospholipid unique to the inner mitochondrial membrane and essential for the electron transport chain that generates ATP. Cardiolipin function is directly dependent on adequate DHA levels.
