CBASP

No randomised controlled trial had previously tested CBASP systematically in institutional inpatient settings. CBASP uses interpersonal techniques to help patients recognise behavioural consequences and acquire more effective interpersonal skills. CBASP assumes impaired interpersonal functioning in chronic early-onset depression often results from child maltreatment. The CBASP acute phase includes an introduction stage, a main treatment stage, and relapse prevention. CBASP is the only psychotherapy developed specifically for persistent depressive disorder.
