CGM active time should be at least 80% over a 10-day sensor wear period to produce meaningful data. The standard target for Time in Range is at least 70% of readings falling between 70 and 180 mg/dL. Glucose Variability is measured as coefficient of variation, with a target below 36%. The Glucose Management Indicator (GMI) estimates future lab A1C from CGM data and targets below 7%. Reducing time spent outside the target glucose range automatically decreases overall glucose variability. Time Below Range is always addressed first in CGM data review because hypoglycemia carries the most immediate clinical risk.
