SES at birth will be measured using variables recorded at birth or the closest prior record. The planned SES index may include parental education, household income, and parental occupation. Children born into socioeconomically disadvantaged environments are more likely to develop mental health problems later in life. The protocol studies how socioeconomic status at birth affects severe mental health outcomes in young adulthood.
