China Obesity Epidemic

China ranks second globally in obesity rates, behind only the United States. The assumption that the Chinese are universally thin is outdated. Childhood obesity in China increased 14 times among boys and 11 times among girls between 1985 and 2015. China's obesity surge resulted from adopting American-style eating patterns.
