Clinical Screening

The study highlights that eating disorders and insulin omission occur beyond the stereotype of young lean women. Automated insulin delivery was presented as a possible future perspective, not a proven intervention for people with eating disorders or insulin omission. The findings support systematic screening for insulin omission when people with type 1 diabetes have altered CGM metrics or elevated HbA1c. Screening should include men and people with normal or high BMI rather than focusing only on women or low BMI. Diabetes care should integrate somatic and psychological expertise because shame and guilt may make disclosure difficult.
