Clinical Trial Unit Emissions

Nantes University Hospital's planned 2027 office move is expected to reduce energy consumption by one-third through adoption of innovative energy-efficient technologies. Staff commuting contributed less than 2% of CTU module emissions because most staff use carbon-free or low-carbon transport modes. Most CTU staff commute by cycling, walking, or public transit, leaving limited potential for additional emissions reduction through commuting interventions. CTU emissions in both trials were primarily driven by heating and electricity consumption, which are difficult to address in the short term within existing facilities.
