Most participants no longer had supplemented strains detectable after stopping a multi-strain formulation for one month. The reason some participants retained strains was unresolved and not simply explained by their starting microbiome. Gut microbiome tests can measure Akkermansia levels, including qPCR and consumer microbiome options.
