The intervention consisted of a one-hour face-to-face session with 15 minutes of didactic content followed by 45 minutes of discussion. The study used a single-arm cohort pre/post survey design at Federally Qualified Health Centers in San Diego. Scripps Health partnered with Project Dulce to develop a culturally tailored genomics education intervention for Hispanic/Latino adults with diabetes-related conditions. Community members contributed to the intervention materials and survey instrument under community-engaged research principles. Visual materials with minimal text were used to accommodate varied literacy levels. The education content covered genetics fundamentals, genebank purpose, procedures, benefits, and risks needed for future genomic study consent.
