Comprehension Testing

Only experimental-group patients scoring below 8 out of 10 repeat education and retake the test, with possible tailored surgeon clarification after a second failure. The questionnaire covers disease, proposed surgery, technique, benefits, risks, mortality, post-discharge instructions, and alternatives. The comprehension questionnaire was created specifically for this study with separate versions for spine surgery and robotic radical prostatectomy. The comprehension check is formative and does not determine access to care.
