CONPHES is complementary to existing reporting tools rather than a replacement for them. CONPHES fills a reporting-guideline gap for process evaluations conducted alongside public health effectiveness trials. CONPHES may be useful beyond paired effectiveness trials, but it was developed and validated for that context.
