Counterfactual Retrieval

The lung survival perturbation produced a favorable-outcome pattern involving immune activation, checkpoint reductions, suppressive myeloid decreases, ECM or barrier reduction, and lower Ki67 at the tumor-stroma interface. Counterfactual analyses were exploratory and hypothesis-generating rather than clinically validated. Counterfactual retrieval changes the retrieved set of real measured mIF patches after a controlled metadata edit while holding morphology fixed. The breast cancer counterfactual changed only staging metadata from an earlier-stage profile to a more advanced profile. The lung adenocarcinoma counterfactual changed only survival status to Alive for one deceased patient.
