One study found 86% post-discharge satisfaction among COVID-19 patients using a five-point Likert scale. Two high-quality studies from 2020 evaluated patient satisfaction with hospital COVID-19 measures. Pandemic measures coincided with health system pressure, workforce shortages, resource reallocation, supply chain disruptions, and delays in essential supplies. COVID-19 public health and social measures could indirectly reduce access to non-COVID healthcare. Zimbabwe’s nationwide lockdown restricted movement and suspended public transportation, making clinic access more difficult. Visitor restrictions were associated with lower complete satisfaction among surgical patients compared with unrestricted patients. Severe mobility restrictions in South Africa likely limited clinic access during the pandemic response.
