COVID-19 severity was classified into ISARIC-WHO categories 1 through 5. Severity was based on the worst clinical progression during hospitalisation and discharge category. Severity category was strongly associated with ICU admission and mortality. Category 5 had much higher adjusted odds of ICU admission than milder categories. Deaths were concentrated in categories 4 and 5.
