Retention asymmetry can create potential wells in biological-age space. The relationship between symmetric allocation and growth is parameter-dependent. During division, each harmful protein is independently retained by the mother with probability p and transferred to the daughter with probability 1 - p. Lower retention probability means the mother passes more damage to the daughter and experiences stronger rejuvenation. Growth-rate curves are symmetric around p = 0.5 because mother and daughter allocations are complementary.
