Decision Support Tool

The tool predicts each patient's TSH and free thyroxine response to different levothyroxine doses. The tool uses postoperative thyroid measurements and patient characteristics to estimate an appropriate dose. The tool's model uses hierarchical Bayesian modelling with Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulation. The improved tool version adds an individually calculated delay in TSH response. Clinicians may override tool recommendations without affecting study participation or data quality.
