Dementia Leaders Programme

The programme aims to reduce the gap between academic dementia research and practical care realities. The programme includes in-person workshops, webinars, and online meetings co-organised by researchers and participants. The programme is initially local in Witten, Germany, with possible scaling to other German research centres and internationally if evaluation results are promising. The programme includes people living with dementia, informal caregivers, and healthcare professionals as active contributors rather than only study participants or informants. The Dementia Leaders programme supports people with lived or practical dementia experience to become coresearchers in dementia care research.
