The study cohort consisted of 224 surgical patients aged 65 or older treated at two Ethiopian specialised hospitals between December 2024 and March 2025. The cohort's mean age was 73.3 years, and most patients were male. The study included general, orthopaedic, urological, and gynaecological surgeries, including elective and emergency procedures.
