Endometriosis Medications

Hormonal IUDs reduce pain, ovarian lesion size, and blood loss in endometriosis patients. Medications are described as more effective than current natural interventions for severe endometriosis pain. The standard dienogest dose is 2 mg per day, and 4 mg provides no additional benefit. Patients trying to conceive cannot use the listed endometriosis medications because they block fertility temporarily. Medication after surgical excision is considered standard care because surgery does not prevent recurrence. Dienogest is presented as the current first-line pharmacological choice for endometriosis.
