Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

Many surgical-arm patients reported rapid improvement after endoscopic sinus surgery. Reported benefits of ESS included less facial pain, easier breathing, improved smell, improved taste, and quality-of-life gains. ESS can provide rapid relief but requires careful preparation, realistic expectations, and clear postoperative instructions. Postoperative experiences after ESS varied from expected congestion and soreness to infection, strong eye pain, significant bleeding, or delayed healing. Some patients were surprised by the burden of recovery after surgery.
