EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid)

EPA is described as anti-inflammatory. EPA is presented as beneficial for many degenerative conditions, especially heart disease. EPA is the intermediate step between ALA and DHA in the omega-3 conversion chain. EPA contains five double bonds. EPA can serve as a precursor for DHA. EPA is an omega-3 form that can be produced from ALA.
