The ordered progression was stable across tested stochastic error probabilities. Transitions among attractors are interpreted as cell-state transitions in an epigenetic landscape. The stochastic epigenetic landscape model allowed each node to disobey its Boolean function with a specified error probability. The only global ordering with positive successive net transition rates was epithelial to senescent to mesenchymal stem-like.
