Sunset light exposure in the evening is therapeutically valuable. Red light therapy should be done at least two hours before bed — not immediately before sleep — because it generates energy alongside melatonin. Artificial lights should be dimmed or turned off starting around 7–10 PM to allow pineal melatonin to rise. Candles, fireplaces, and campfires are ideal evening light sources because their flames emit infrared light.
