Bluefin tuna contains approximately five times more DHA than other tuna varieties. Grass-fed cattle grazing on mixed plant species had three times the phytonutrient content of average US grass-fed cattle, with forage diversity directly determining phytonutrient density. Pasture-raised egg yolks are a significant source of DHA, substantially higher in DHA than conventional eggs, and also contain concentrated, highly bioavailable lutein and zeaxanthin. Plant sources of ALA are inferior to direct DHA sources for eye health, though they still contribute. Cold-water oily fish are the richest dietary sources of preformed DHA. Kale is exceptionally high in lutein and zeaxanthin.
