Familial Lifespan Correlations

Sibling lifespan features showed the strongest extended-family associations with individual lifespan. Parent-child lifespan correlations were positive but explained very little variance. Grandparent lifespan correlations were weaker than parent-child correlations. Most extended-family lifespan features had statistically significant but small correlations with individual lifespan. Family lifespan correlations may reflect genetics, shared environment, socioeconomic status, or record-quality patterns rather than causation.
