Feasibility Outcomes

The consent rate, retention rate, and intervention adherence all met prespecified stop-go criteria, though the target sample of 60 dyads was not achieved. In-hospital mortality had much less missing data than 30-day mortality in the pilot. Community and mental health services with established dementia caseloads recruited well, whereas acute hospital sites struggled due to infrastructure and staffing challenges. Medical record extraction was considered feasible if the full-scale trial limits extracted variables and improves consistent recording. The primary feasibility outcome is recruitment rate, measured as the proportion of eligible patients who enrol. Self-hypnosis compliance is defined as attendance at both collective hypnosis sessions plus completion of at least one home self-hypnosis session.
