Fertility-Longevity Tradeoffs

The male fertility-longevity tradeoff is a critical model assumption without direct empirical calibration. Sensitivity analysis found that the male fertility-longevity tradeoff strongly influenced whether the transition to high longevity could occur. Female fertility without grandmothering is modeled to decline with both age at last birth trait and longevity trait. The transition depends on precise parameter regions, especially for male tradeoff and late mortality assumptions.
