Second-generation immigrants are excluded because their dietary practices may reflect long-term host-country food exposure from early life. The review defines first-generation Indian immigrants as India-born individuals who migrated to and live in one of the four target countries, regardless of citizenship or legal residency status. Eligible participants may be described as Indian-born, migrants from India, foreign-born from India, or self-identified first-generation Indian immigrants.
