Maintaining alignment prevents the front leg from drifting or collapsing during the drill. The front leg should stay aligned throughout the drill. From the front view, the foot, knee, and hip should remain in a straight line. The foot, knee, and hip should remain in the same plane as the body moves. The goal is to maintain a stacked front-leg position while the body moves vertically. The pelvis should be positioned so the glute can engage. The front foot, knee, and hip should form a straight line during setup. The knee should not collapse inward or drift too far outward. Knee drift inward or outward reduces the clean relationship between the foot, knee, and hip. Excessive back tucking should be avoided during setup.
