Functional Assessment

Functional outcomes were most often measured with clinical walking tests and patient-reported outcomes. Gait speed and walking endurance were the dominant functional domains assessed. Instrumented functional assessments were used less often and mainly involved motion capture gait analysis. Patient-reported functional outcomes covered pain and disability, prosthesis use, mobility, quality of life, and participation. Wearable sensors were used to capture gait parameters and real-world walking activity.
