Gastrin

Gastrin is the hormone that stimulates gastric acid production. Without adequate gastrin, stomach acid output is insufficient to provide the valve with the acidic signal it needs to close. Vitamin D deficiency suppresses gastrin, which then suppresses stomach acid production.
