The reduced Boolean model recovered exactly three fixed-point attractors that matched expected biological phenotypes. The network reflects literature and curation choices available before 2014. The model uses published experimental interactions rather than hypothetical regulatory edges. The final core Boolean network had nine nodes: ESE-2, Snai2, NF-kB, E2F, p53, p16, Rb, Cyclin, and Telomerase. The large curated gene regulatory network contained 41 nodes and 97 experimentally supported interactions.
