The actual primary care GP workforce is smaller than registration figures imply. Beijing's general practitioner workforce remains difficult to develop despite policy investment and rapid growth in registered GP numbers. Beijing had 6,528 registered GPs and 311 government-run community health centres at the end of 2023.
