Health Facility Readiness

Ethiopia had the highest facility readiness for GMP at 38.9% under the seven-item model, while Afghanistan had the lowest at 4.9%. Only 28.5% of facilities across six countries met the 75% readiness threshold under the seven-item model. Full GMP readiness was extremely rare, achieved by only 4.4% of facilities across six countries under the seven-item model. GMP guidelines were available in only 5.6% to 43.7% of facilities across the six countries. Facility readiness for GMP was operationalised as a composite count score based on the WHO SARA reference manual, covering staff, equipment, and guideline domains. Afghanistan's low readiness is attributed to prolonged conflict, political instability, and a healthcare system among the world's weakest.
