The presence of trained health providers available around the clock was associated with a 9% higher GMP readiness score. Task-sharing was presented as a major enabler for sustaining paediatric surgical services where specialists are scarce. Facilities offering GM services 2–3 weeks per month had a 12% higher readiness score than those offering it only once per month. Trained GM staff coverage was very low in Afghanistan at 12% and Nepal at 19.8%, rising to 60.2% in the best-performing country.
