HeartSpan is derived from age-CSI regression and compares observed CSI to an age-normative curve. The age-CSI slope may overstate age effects because it was estimated from a clinically mixed PTB-XL cohort. HeartSpan is intended for trend detection rather than single-measurement diagnosis.
