The hybrid multiple-threshold framework kept all 28 HCC tests in the connected evidence synthesis network. In the HCC dataset, a simplified ANOVA-plus model with restricted covariance was selected as the best-fitting approach by DIC among the considered simplified Model 4 variants. Selecting only common thresholds in the HCC example caused loss of tests from the connected network and wider credible intervals for several estimates. Alpha-fetoprotein in the HCC case study was reported at 157 thresholds. The HCC demonstration dataset included 28 conventional biomarkers, imaging tests, and algorithm-based tests from 130 studies.
