Home-Based Asthma Testing

Home testing may improve asthma diagnosis by allowing measurements during symptoms and over time. Patients saw home testing as useful for understanding symptoms and supporting a more accurate diagnosis. Implementation of home asthma testing should account for practical, technical, privacy, and support-related barriers. Some patients experienced home testing as burdensome because it added responsibility and complexity. Home-based spirometry and FeNO testing was broadly acceptable to many patients being assessed for asthma.
